Elective Rotations

All elective rotations at Eastern Connecticut Health Network offer practical experience in a learning environment with the aim of developing the clinical competency necessary to evaluate and care for patients of all age groups.

Each specialty will provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to a patient panel under the supervision of attending or resident physicians.

Please direct questions about Elective Student Rotations to our Coordinator Brenda Haberern.

Family Medicine Sub-Internships

Medical students who are focused on family medicine as a career and interested in learning more about our Family Medicine Residency are encouraged to apply for our Family Medicine Sub-Internship Program. Through the program, medical students have exposure to residents and faculty in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, and have opportunities to participate in resident and medical student learning sessions.

The Family Medicine Sub-Internship Program is designed for medical students who are interested in applying to our residency. We truly enjoy having visiting medical students rotate in our department. Our visiting students are highly anticipated by our faculty and residents. Many of our current residents first experienced our program through a visiting student rotation. We recruit heavily from our competitive extern pool.
